“After hearing and watching Sphere perform Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, I came to grips with just how privileged and lucky I was that anything and everything was fair game. I could feel my own engine start to rev up even as I walked to my car. Each of my four movements is set to a different kind of motion.” This is taken from Carter Pann’s account of hearing the Sphere Ensemble in concert as he was about to begin a new work for them.
