For Dear Life—Linda's Music

Written as both a birthday gift and a farewell to a music lover battling lung cancer, Shulamit Ran’s FOR DEAR LIFE—LINDA’S MUSIC is a deeply personal work for string sextet. Its title carries a poignant double meaning, paying tribute to someone dear while evoking the struggle to hold on to life in the face of serious illness. In its seven minutes, FOR DEAR LIFE explores a rich range of complex textures and expressive contrasts, bringing Ran’s characteristic intensity and sensitivity to this moving tribute.
