About the Opera:
Ellen West brings us deep into the personal internal struggle of a young woman’s battle with a severe, chronic eating disorder, as well as the attempts by her doctor to diagnose and save her. The opera is inspired by one of the earliest cases of existential analysis.

Opera Noire of New York Honors Gordon

Opera Noire of New York, a performance and resource company dedicated to the advancement of Afro-American Classical Singers, opened its 2017/2018 season with a Tribute Concert in honor of RICKY IAN GORDON. Prior to the event, the composer spent time working with the performers as they prepared to present songs and operatic excerpts from his work.
