Quick Overview

?I can never tell whether October
is leaving?the warmth
and generous sunlit grace of summer
or introducing?the dead of winter to follow.
Is it the ending or does it begin?
Does the summer die in it
or is the winter born through it??
?George Tsontakis

Everything is either growing or dying. Yet all are really one and the same. I?m exploring a time and a place here, like the month of October, where sadness can be a positive thing.

I love the pale colors of the orchestra ? muted horns, clarinets and strings. All my orchestration is based on soft music and how to blend it. It?s quietness that really enters the heart. But I do need loudness, as well, so that the quiet is even more poignant.
