From a deceptively simple opening melody, he introduces runs, trills, broken chords, and chromatic passages, all seamlessly integrated into this 5-minute, somewhat challenging showpiece.

Knowing that the Debussy piano duet Six épigraphes antiques began life as an ensemble for 2 flutes, 2 harps, and celesta, the editors have transcribed the duet "as a faithful reproduction of the original colour." The result is more Debussy for flute and harp, certain to be welcome by practitioners of that genre.
