Theodore Presser Company Presents
New Flute Releases from Lowell Liebermann

King of Prussia, PA New flute music from the esteemed Lowell Liebermann is always a treat, and Theodore Presser Company is thrilled to announce the release of two new original works for flute, as well as a new study score for his widely-performed Concerto, Op. 39 for Flute and Orchestra.

Air, Op. 106 (114-41374 • $8.95), written for flute and organ, was commissioned by The Society for the Promotion of Sacred Music at St. Bernard’s Church in Hamburg, Germany and premiered at that location in April of 2008 with Hanna Turonek on flute and Vincent De Pol playing organ. A truly beautiful offering for an underserved combination of instruments, Air, op. 106 is a smooth adagio for advanced players.

Night Music, Op. 109 (114-41375 • $14.95) was written for another instrumental grouping in need of repertoire: flute, clarinet, and piano. Premiered at the 2009 National Flute Association Convention in New York City, this thoughtful and nocturnal work was commissioned by Louis K. and Susan P. Meisel for the Temin sisters, Anna Temin Meisel and Claire Temin Bird; its first performers.

Also, an elegant new study score has been prepared for Liebermann’s celebrated Concerto, Op. 39 for Flute and Orchestra (416-41186 • $40.00), one of the most celebrated pieces in standard flute repertoire today, allowing the soloist to study her or his part within the context of the orchestra. For the advanced player, Concerto, Op. 39 was premiered on November 6, 1992 by Sir James Galway with the Saint Louis Symphony and Leonard Slatkin conducting. As always, the large score and parts remain available on rental from Theodore Presser Company.

Lowell Liebermann is one of America's most frequently performed and recorded living composers. Named by the New York Times "as much of a traditionalist as an innovator", Mr. Liebermann's music is known for its technical command and audience appeal. From a catalog of over one hundred works in all genres, several have gone on to become standard repertoire for their instruments, including the Sonata for Flute and Piano, which has been recorded more than twenty times to date, and Gargoyles for Piano, which has been recorded fifteen times.

Theodore Presser Company is a full-range music publisher and distributes the music of over 30 publishers from around the globe, with a combined sales catalog that features over 60,000 available works.
