King of Prussia, PA – Theodore Presser Company welcomes a new work from Chen Yi for Eb alto saxophone and piano: The Soulful and the Perpetual (114-41535 - Score and Parts - $14.95). The result of a commission by Jessica Heller Knopf, the work takes form in two diametrically opposed movements. “The Soulful” is lyrical, with moving and gripping melodies, while “The Perpetual” uses perpetual motion to symbolize consistence and perseverance.
