Commissioned by a large consortium for the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio, along with violist Michael Tree and contrabassist Harold Robinson, Zwilich infuses her new quintet with characteristic depth, sparkle, and fresh sonorities, plus a special blues-inspired homage to Schubert’s “Trout” theme.
