SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

full time position


Theodore Presser Company is offering students the opportunity for real work experience. This is an excellent chance for students to apply their studies to practical business. Also, for music students, it will be an occasion to learn many facets of the music publishing world which includes music rental, music licensing, marketing, promotions, sales, and production.


Description of responsibilities:

Opportunities will be available to students in the editorial/production, distribution, special print, rental, accounting, royalty, and I.T. departments.


Who should apply:

This is an excellent opportunity for music students, business/marketing or computer science/web design students. While the interns do not need to be a music student, some experience with or knowledge of music is helpful as some tasks require a basic knowledge of music.


The program:

Summer interns are required to work full-time for a minimum of 7 weeks; however we offer flexible schedules to accommodate students. Summer Session I will begin May 24, 2010 and will end July 9, 2010; Summer Session II will begin July 12, 2010 and will end August 27, 2010. Accepted interns may elect to participate in either one session or both. Interns will receive a stipend of $4.00 an hour.


Requirements:

  • Should be motivated and independent with good work ethic
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Possess a strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Work well in a group and individually
  • A quick study able to pick up projects quickly
  • Ability to learn new projects and procedures quickly
  • Some positions will require knowledge of music and the ability to read music

IT MANAGER

full time position


A music publishing company in King of Prussia is looking for an IT Manager to be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and support of the information systems.


Major responsibilities include:

  • Hardware: Oversee the purchasing and the maintenance of hardware for networking, server, data storage and back-up, desktop/client processing
  • Software: Ensuring all software needs are properly accommodated (OS, MS Office, database, anti-virus, e-mail and spam filter)
  • Database Management: Develop and maintain internal data
  • Website administration: Lead the development of a new and improved website
  • Networking: Create, maintain, and support the security of networks, and adapt networks to accommodate changing needs and to achieve peak functionality
  • Systems administration


We are looking for candidates with:

  • At least 3 years of IT experience, preferably as a manager (Degree in IT not required)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics
  • Website development/maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of Music a major plus

MATERIAL HANDLING CLERKS

full and part time TEMPORARY positions available (daytime and evening shifts)


The Material Handling Clerk processes incoming shipments of stock, fulfills customer orders (outgoing shipments), and performs other warehousing, customer service, and inventory duties as necessary within a team environment. Temporary employees have the opportunity to move into permanent positions.


Qualifications/Experience Required:
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic math skills and number matching ability
  • Moderate typing/data entry experience
  • Basic knowledge of classical music is a plus, but not required


Skills and Performance Dimensions:
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to get along well with others in a team environment
  • This is a physical position that requires continual standing, walking, moderate to heavy lifting (typically 10-30 lbs but sometimes as heavy as 70lbs), and frequent bending

ACCOUNTING CLERK

Part-time

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • A/R collections, monitoring of aging, contacting customers on delinquent accounts and following up to maximize cash collections
  • Perform analysis of invoice activity to ensure that receivables are accurately stated
  • Recommend accounts for credit hold and/or collection agency assignment
  • Working with the sales team to resolve account issues and expedite payment
  • Managing customer payment issues; sending monthly statements; assembling daily cash receipts
  • Assisting in general administrative tasks as needed
  • Reporting to accounting manager


Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of collection process
  • Accounting skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and other database applications
  • Ability to multi task, set priorities and solve problems with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written), phone skills are particularly important
