Archives and Out of Print Items

If you have been searching for a Presser title and cannot find it, it is possible that the title has become permanently out of print. The Library of Congress' Ask a Librarian can assist you with finding older out of print Theodore Presser and subsidiary company titles. Many of Theodore Presser Company's out of print items are on file with the Library of Congress.

However, the staff of the Music Division at the Library of Congress does not provide the type of appraisal and specialized identification service that many owners of antique music are seeking. Rare books dealers sometimes provide evaluations of sheet music. There is a directory of dealers at www.abaa.org. If you click on the "booksellers" link it should take you to a database that you can search. If you use "music" as one of your search terms, it should take you to dealers who evaluate music.
